PNC/Players For The Planet E-Waste Drives May 14-17

CINCINNATI - PNC, the Reds and Players For The Planet are joining forces again with Cohen Recycling and many of Cincinnati's leading corporations for the 6th annual PNC/Players For The Planet E-Waste Recycling Drives on May 14-17. 

The PNC/Players For The Planet E-Waste Recycling Drives provide an easy way for Reds fans and residents of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky to recycle old electronics. 

The first 200 cars at each event will receive two free tickets to a select 2015 regular season Reds game, while supplies last. 

The public is encouraged to visit four convenient locations with their electronic waste items for recycling:

Thursday, May 14, 2015 - 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• PNC Bank/Kroger - Northgate Square: 9650 Colerain Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45251

Friday, May 15, 2015 - 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• PNC Bank/Kroger - Anderson Towne Center: 7500 Beechmont Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45230

Saturday, May 16, 2015 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• PNC Bank/Kroger - Hyde Park Plaza: 3740 Paxton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45209

Sunday, May 17, 2015 - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Target/Kroger - Newport Pavilion: 160 Pavilion Parkway, Newport, KY 41071

Players For The Planet will accept televisions, personal computers, cell phones, monitors, small home appliances and many other electronics. For a full list of acceptable items, please visit: www.cohenusa.com/reds.

A minimum donation of $10 per car is suggested to offset recycling costs and to benefit the Reds Community Fund. 

A CRT television or monitor can contain up to six pounds of lead, which poses potential health risks if not properly recycled. 

Last year's recycling drives collected over 148,000 lbs. of electronic waste from over 1,600 cars.

Organizing partners include Campbell County Solid Waste Office, Green Umbrella Cincinnati, Butler County Recycling & Solid Waste District, Hamilton Country Recycling & Solid Waste District and the City of Cincinnati Office of Environment & Sustainability.

Players for the Planet is non-profit that promotes environmental awareness and education in order to preserve the stadiums and playing fields for future generations. Founded by former Reds outfielder Chris Dickerson and former MLB pitcher Jack Cassel, this organization dedicates its resources and the talents of professional athletes to support its mission to educate everyone who enjoys playing and watching youth, amateur, and professional sports.
