A's Release OF Alex Hassan

The Oakland A's released outfielder Alex Hassan, the club announced today. Hassan was designated for assignment last Friday.

Hassan was claimed off waivers from Texas May 2 after the Rangers claimed him off waivers from Oakland April 9. He was also claimed off waivers by the A's and Baltimore during the off-season before being claimed again by Oakland Feb. 27. Hassan went 1-for-14 (.071) in four games with Nashville after hitting .267 with eight RBI in 16 games with Triple-A Round Rock in the Rangers farm system.
