Colorado Rockies Place Justin Morneau on Seven-Day Disabled List

Club recalls infielder Rafael Ynoa from Triple-A Albuquerque

LOS ANGELES - The Colorado Rockies on Saturday placed first baseman Justin Morneau on the seven-day concussion disabled list, effective Friday, with a cervical strain and concussion symptoms and recalled infielder Rafael Ynoa from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Morneau, who turned 34 yesterday, is hitting .290 (29-for-100) with 10 runs scored, seven doubles, three triples and nine RBI in 27 games for Colorado this year. 

Ynoa was optioned to Triple-A on Thursday. After making Colorado's Opening Day roster, the 27-year-old Dominican Republic native has played in 19 games, making two starts at third base, two in left field and one at shortstop. He is hitting .241 (7-for-29) with a pair of doubles and three RBI. Ynoa is 2-for-11 with a walk in 12 pinch-hit appearances.

The Rockies have a full 40-man roster.
