Twins to reinstate Tim Stauffer from disabled list

Option Doug Bernier to Triple-A

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they will return right-handed pitcher Tim Stauffer from his rehab assignment at Triple-A Rochester and reinstate him from the disabled list prior to Friday's game in Chicago. Stauffer, who missed 19 games with a right intercostal strain, made four rehab appearances for the Red Wings (5.0 IP, 3 ER).

To make room for Stauffer on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned infielder Doug Bernier to Triple-A Rochester. Bernier appeared in four games for the Twins after having his contract selected on May 6.
