First-place Dodgers take on San Diego and Atlanta in the fifth homestand of the season

LOS ANGELES - The Dodgers' fifth homestand of the season begins with a three-game series against the San Diego Padres tomorrow, May 22 (RHP Andrew Cashner vs. RHP Zack Greinke), Saturday, May 23 (RHP Ian Kennedy vs. RHP Mike Bolsinger) and Sunday, May 24 (RHP James Shields vs. RHP Carlos Frias). The Dodgers take on the Atlanta Braves Monday, Memorial Day, May 25, Tuesday, May 26 and Wednesday, May 27. Games tomorrow and Saturday against the Padres begin at 7:10 p.m. with auto gates opening at 4:40 p.m. and stadium gates opening at 5:10 p.m. Sunday's contest starts at 1:10 p.m. with auto gates opening at 10:40 a.m. and stadium gates at 11:10 a.m. Monday's game against the Braves starts at 5:10 p.m. with auto gates opening at 2:40 p.m. and stadium gates opening at 3:10 p.m. Games Tuesday and Wednesday against the Braves start at 7:10 p.m. with auto gates opening at 4:40 p.m. and stadium gates opening at 5:10 p.m. Tickets for games against San Diego and Atlanta can be purchased by calling 866-DODGERS or by visiting www.dodgers.com/tickets. Saturday's game is sold out.

Levy Restaurants currently offers Caribbean Sticky Ribs at the Think Blue BBQ located in the left-field plaza. This dish features pork spare ribs, ghost pepper and molasses marinade, pineapple barbeque sauce and is served with a tropical cole slaw. This homestand, Levy Restaurants will also offer Sweet Corn Nachos with Chihuahua cheese sauce (image attached) at the La Taqueria stands located on the field, loge and reserve levels.

Fans are invited onto the field for Friday Night Fireworks presented by Denny's immediately following Friday's game. The fireworks show will be set to electric dance music (EDM) by DJ Zedd. In an effort to continue to be good neighbors to the residents surrounding Dodger Stadium, fireworks shows will take place before 11:00 p.m. and are subject to cancellation due to length of game.

Apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas will throw the ceremonial first pitch as part of the third annual Adoptee night in partnership with the Mixed Roots Foundation and the Apl.de.Ap Foundation. He will be joined on the field by his adoptive father Joe Ben Hudgens in recognition of National Foster Care Month. Cameroonian-born singer-songwriter, guitarist, pianist, model and actress Andy Allo will perform the national anthem. "Entourage" actor Jerry Ferrara will serve as guest PA announcer. Pregame entertainment will also include a stilt walker in the left-field plaza and DJ Adam in the right-field plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Dodger alumnus Kenny Landreaux will sign autographs in the left-field pavilion from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Sunburst Youth Academy Brigadier General James Gabrielli will also throw a first pitch. Gabrielli, a former Marine aviator, has more than 37 years of military service and is an educator and advocate for young men and women. He serves as the commanding general for the California National Guard's youth and community programs task force and commands the California National Guard's youth programs including Sunburst and Grizzly Youth Challenge Academies, Oakland Military Institute, STARBASE and the California Cadet Corps.

The Military Heroes of the Game are U.S. Army National Guard Sergeant Salina Munoz, U.S. Army National Guard Staff Sergeant Alexander Darius Yin and U.S. Army Sergeant Paul Gonzalez. Munoz and Yin are both currently stationed at Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos and serve at the Sunburst Youth Academy, one of the top reformative youth challenge programs in the nation. Gonzalez is currently stationed at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina and has served three deployments, six years infantry and three years in signal corps.

As part of Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball presented by Nike, 350 youth from Rose Hill Pirate Little League in Lincoln Park, Frederick Douglass Academy Charter Middle School in South L.A. and KIPP Philosophers Academy of South LA, a tuition-free public charter middle school, will be in attendance. Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball provides Los Angeles area inner-city youth with a Dodger game experience courtesy of the Dodgers. Transportation to and from Dodger Stadium in a customized Dodger bus, Reserve level tickets, a voucher for a Dodger Dog and beverage and a Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball T-shirt are included.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) conducts silent auctions throughout the season featuring more than 25 signed pieces of memorabilia from Dodger players, coaches and alumni. Auctions will take place behind the Vin Scully press box on the club level. The items up for auction on Friday include a Clayton Kershaw autographed photo, Fernando Valenzuela autographed baseball and Joc Pederson autographed Dodger jersey. The auction will end at 8:45 p.m.

Friday, May 22

The Dodgers take on the Padres at 7:10 p.m. Saturday. All auto gates open at 4:40 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 5:10 p.m. The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive an Adrian Gonzalez bobblehead presented by Time Warner Cable (image attached). In celebration of Gonzalez's bobblehead day, Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuellar will perform on the field prior to the game. The 10-man group will perform three songs selected by Gonzalez: "El Rey," "Mexico Lindo y Querido" and "Mariachi Loco."

Grammy award-winning R&B singer Eric Bellinger will perform the national anthem. Pregame entertainment will also include a magician from the Magic Castle in the left-field plaza, DJ Adam in the right-field plaza, DJ Lady Sha in the left-field reserve plaza and The Smokin' Cobras in the right-field reserve plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Dodger alumnus Billy Ashley will sign autographs in the left-field pavilion from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Air Force Technical Sergeant E6 Gerardo Rodriguez of Moreno Valley. Rodriguez just returned from his second deployment to the Middle East. He has served more than 11 years in the Air Force, has been stationed at bases in England, Korea and California and is currently stationed at March Air Reserve Base as a combat arms instructor.

Saturday, May 23

The Dodgers conclude their series against the Padres at 1:10 p.m. Sunday. All auto gates open at 10:40 a.m. and all stadium gates open at 11:10 a.m. Dodger alumnus Tommy Davis will sign autographs in the left-field pavilion from 4:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Hollywood Records recording artist Sabrina Carpenter will perform the national anthem. The singer/songwriter just released her album debut, "Eyes Wide Open," a collection of pop songs, many of them co-written by Carpenter. Sean "The Dancing Man" O'Brien will throw the ceremonial first pitch. An internet sensation, "The Dancing Man," has raised awareness for anti-bullying after O'Brien experienced online body-shaming via a video of him dancing at a club. "The dance party of a lifetime," in celebration of O'Brien and benefitting an anti-bullying campaign, will take place on Saturday in Los Angeles and has received the support of celebrities including Pharrell and Ellie Goulding.

Viva Los Dodgers presented by State Farm and Time Warner Cable at the historic 76 station begins at 11:00 a.m. Dodger alumnus Al Ferrara will sign autographs from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Musical entertainment will be provided by 40 Watt Hype and Blue Agave. Levy Restaurants offers Dodger dogs, carne asada tacos and Montejo beer for purchase at Viva Los Dodgers.

Viva Los Dodgers takes place each Sunday of every homestand two hours prior to game. The season-long initiative celebrates Latino culture in Los Angeles and the legacy of Latino Dodgers past and present at a family-friendly pregame festival at the historic 76 station. All fans are welcome and can attend with a ticket to Sunday's game.

As part of Adrian Gonzalez's Viva Los Dodgers program, families from EL ARCA, will attend Sunday's game courtesy of Gonzalez and wife Betsy. EL ARCA's mission is to enhance the quality of life for adults with developmental disabilities and their families by providing quality programs in a compassionate and caring environment. El Arca is located in Lincoln Heights. The Gonzalez family plays host to 72 fans per Sunday home game (18 families of four) and provides one parking pass per each group of four throughout the 2015 season. Tickets in the All-You-Can-Eat right-field pavilion are provided and include unlimited Dodger dogs, nachos, popcorn, peanuts and Coca-Cola products. The Dodgers will also present a community hero award to EL ARCA President and CEO John Menchaca who has dedicated more than 20 years of his professional life to helping persons with developmental disabilities.

The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Air Force Technical Sergeant Michael Smith of Tulare. Smith has been an active-duty member of the California Air National Guard for the past 25 years and has been deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Southern Watch and to Kyrgyzstan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Smith provides base and aircraft security, has been assigned to Presidential and Vice Presidential aircraft and is currently assigned to the 144th Security Forces Squadron in Fresno. He will serve on another deployment this summer.

As part of Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball presented by Nike, 700 youth from Jackie Tatum Harvard Recreation Center in South L.A., Hope Academy Charter in the Inland Empire, Dodgers Jr. T-Ball in San Fernando, Educare Foundation Robert F. Kennedy after-school program and Multicultural Learning Center, a L.A. charter school, will be in attendance. Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball provides Los Angeles area inner-city youth with a Dodger game experience courtesy of the Dodgers. Transportation to and from Dodger Stadium in a customized Dodger bus, Reserve level tickets, a voucher for a Dodger Dog and beverage and a Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball T-shirt are included.

Fans sitting in the left and right field pavilions will receive a pair of Terminator Genisys Sunglasses courtesy of Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions. "Terminator Genisys" is in theaters July 1.

The items up for auction on Sunday include an Alex Guererro autographed photo, Zack Greinke autographed baseball and Adrian Gonzalez autographed Dodger jersey. The auction will end at 2:45 p.m.

Sunday and for most Sunday home games, children 14 and under can run around the same bases for Kids Run the Bases presented by New Balance. Youngsters can enter through center field following the game.

Sunday, May 24

The Dodgers will play a three-game series against Atlanta starting Monday at 5:10 p.m.. All auto gates open at 2:40 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 3:10 p.m. Monday is Memorial Day and the Dodgers, along with all of MLB, will again participate in the National Moment of Remembrance during Memorial Day Weekend, a program it has participated in since 1997, to honor soldiers who lost their lives during active military duty. MLB will conduct a moment of silence before all games throughout the weekend and all games on Monday will pause at 3 p.m. (local time) for a moment of silence. 

The Dodgers will wear specially-designed caps and jerseys (images attached) Monday. All of MLB's net proceeds from the sale of these caps and jerseys will be donated to the Welcome Back Veterans program, which provides grants to university hospitals throughout the country to treat veterans suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injury. MLB has committed $30 million to Welcome Back Veterans (www.welcomebackveterans.org) since its inception in 2008.

The first 40,000 fans in attendance Monday will receive a Tommy Lasorda Garden Gnome presented by Chef Merito Seasonings. Memorial pre-game ceremonies will include a flyover by three heritage planes, a P15D Mustang, P63 Cobra and T28 Trojan, from the Palm Springs Air Museum. The U.S. Army will provide a color guard. Five representatives from each military branch of service, 25 Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines and Navy service men and women, will throw the ceremonial first pitch. Tuskegee Airman 95 year-old Lieutenant Colonel Robert Friend will officially start the game with "It's time for Dodger baseball!" The U.S. Department of Defense will also have a Memorial Day PSA that will play on DodgerVision prior to the game. A POW/MIA chair dedication will take place and 300 military families from various military branches will be in attendance. Eight youngsters from military families will partake in Kids Take the Field Monday. The national anthem and will be performed by U.S. Army National Guard Sergeant Vicki Goulding, former U.S. Army Sergeant Victor Hurtado and Lisa Pratt, Operation Rising Star winner and military spouse. Dodger alumnus Al Downing will sign autographs in the left-field pavilion from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Bank of America is proud to support many non-profit organizations supporting veterans. Bank of America Executive Director of New Directions Gregory Scott will throw a first pitch.

LADF will welcome 2015 Loyola Marymount University graduate Kenneth Chancy along with staff and students from the Union Rescue Mission's Maggie and Andre Ethier Learning Center. Chancey, a former resident of the Union Rescue Mission, went from Skid Row to LMU and graduated this month with a bachelor's degree in political science.

The Maggie and Andre Ethier Learning Center at URM was made possible by a $100,000 grant from LADF and Ethier that was presented last June. This marked the second contribution by the LADF to URM, the first was in 2013, and both donations were made in order to start the renovation of the Learning Center and provide scholarships and educational support to students like Chancey.

The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Army Captain Christopher Kahn of Clovis. Kahn enlisted in the Army 16 years ago, has served a deployment to Kuwait as part of Operation Desert Spring and to Baghdad, Iraq as part of Operation Thunder Run and with the 82nd Airborne Division as part of the OIF and Operation New Dawn. Kahn has served in South Korea the past two years where he was selected by the Army's ACS program to attend graduate school.

Monday, May 25

The Dodgers take on Atlanta at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday. All auto gates open at 4:40 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 5:10 p.m. Jerry Vivino, saxophonist in the house band for the Conan O'Brien show, will perform the national anthem. Dodger alumnus Tim Leary will sign autographs in the left-field pavilion from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant E5 Ladarrius Robinson of Minden, Louisiana. Robinson attended Grambling State University in 2003 and enlisted in the Marines after graduation. He served a deployment to Fallujah, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III and served as part of the largest combat deployed battalion in Marine Corps history, 3rd Batallion 4th Marines. He also served deployments to Al-Qa'im, Iraqui and Anah Iraq with Weapons company mobile assault Platoons, Scout Snipers and Lima company in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

LADF will play host to 100 elementary school students and their families in celebration of a partnership between LADF and Vision to Learn, a non-profit organization which provides free eye exams and free glasses to elementary school kids in Los Angeles, now in its third year. LADF granted Vision to Learn $150,000 to increase services to elementary school students. In the past three years they have examined more than 35,000 children and provided more than 27,500 glasses to help these children succeed in school and life. Vision to Learn is also a key health partner in LADF's youth baseball program, Dodgers RBI.

Tuesday, May 26

The Dodgers take on Atlanta at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday to conclude the fifth homestand of the season. All auto gates open at 4:40 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 5:10 p.m. The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a Coaster Set presented by Arco. Saxophonist Michael Lington will perform the national anthem. Dodger alumnus Lee Lacy will sign autographs in the left-field pavilion from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal Manuel Lopez of Compton. Lopez enlisted in 1998, served as an assault man for six years before being deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also served in Operation Noble Eagle, an anti-terrorist force assigned to the west coast of the U.S. after September 11.

Los Angeles Chief of Police Charlie Beck and L.A. County Sheriff Jim McDonnell will throw the ceremonial first pitch and will join the Dodgers in announcing the re-launch of a fan-favorite program where officers will distribute Dodger baseball cards to children and families while on patrol. In 2015, the program returns with the addition of L.A. County Sheriffs. In total, nearly 10,000 LAPD officers and 10,000 sheriff's deputies will carry Dodgers baseball cards with them while on patrol this season.

The 2015 Los Angeles Dodgers Yearbook celebrates the life and career of legendary Dodger lefty Fernando Valenzuela, in a special 21-page section, "The Man Behind the Mania." It is entirely in Valenzuela's words - beginning with his first memories of playing baseball at age 13 - and features never-before-seen photos. This year marks the 34th anniversary of the year that Valenzuela (who famously wore No. 34) pitched an Opening Day shutout at age 20, launching Fernandomania.

The May 2015 issue of Dodger Insider magazine features Adrian Gonzalez on the cover and a story that places his career in context with the great first basemen in MLB history, finding that Gonzalez is well on track to becoming one of the top 25 first basemen of all-time.
