7th Annual Sportsnet Charity Broadcast Auction presented by TD a Success

In-Game event raises $270,216 in support of Jays Care Foundation

On Thursday, May 21, during the TORONTO BLUE JAYS vs. LOS ANGELES ANGELS game, SPORTSNET hosted the 7th Annual Charity Broadcast Auction, presented by TD in support of Jays Care Foundation.

During the game, fans from across Canada had the opportunity to bid on exclusive Blue Jays experiences and memorabilia, with proceeds supporting Jays Care initiatives throughout the country. The live broadcast, hosted by Sportsnet's EVANKA OSMAK, and made possible by the support of technology sponsor Acer, helped raise $270,216 in support of Jays Care Foundation in less than two and a half hours, making it the most successful broadcast auction to date.

Eleven exclusive Blue Jays experiences were auctioned, including a private "Foodie Feast" with pitchers Aaron Sanchez and Marcus Stroman, an opportunity to play MLB The Show on the Rogers Centre video board with catcher Russell Martin, and the chance to join Blue Jays President & CEO, Paul Beeston and VP, Baseball Operations & General Manager, Alex Anthopoulos for a day in the life of the Blue Jays Front Office. Fans were also given the opportunity to purchase Fan Packs for $50 and $100 donations to Jays Care Foundation as well as make a direct donation to the foundation.

"The Sportsnet Charity Broadcast Auction, presented by TD, is one of the most fun and interactive ways for fans across Canada to connect with Jays Care" says Robert Witchel, Executive Director, Jays Care Foundation. "Thanks to Sportsnet, TD, Acer, WestJet, Private Air and all of our partners, the auction was once again a huge success, raising more than $270,000 for Jays Care Foundation to continue our efforts using baseball to create lasting social change for children and youth."

The 7th annual Sportsnet Charity Broadcast Auction was made possible through generous contributions from technology sponsor Acer, presenting sponsor TD, Sportsnet, WestJet, Private Air, PlayStation, the Ritz Carlton Toronto and host, Evanka Osmak.
