A's place of Crisp on the disabled list; recall RHP Graveman from Nashville

The Oakland A's placed outfielder Coco Crisp on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 20 with a cervical strain, the club announced today. To take his spot on the roster, the A's recalled right-handed pitcher Kendall Graveman from Triple-A Nashville.

Crisp was batting .044 in 13 games with the A's. He began the season on the disabled list after undergoing surgery on his right elbow and was reinstated May 6. Crisp also missed time with the neck injury in 2014 but did not go on the disabled list.

Graveman joins the A's for the second time this year. He was on the Opening Day roster and went 1-2 with an 8.27 ERA in four starts before he was optioned to Nashville April 26. The 24-year-old right-hander went 2-1 with a 1.85 ERA and .213 opponents batting average in four starts with the Sounds. Graveman allowed five runs in his first Triple-A start but then went 2-0 with a 0.93 ERA over his final three starts.
