Dodgers Place Paco Rodriguez on DL, Recall Matt West

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today recalled right-handed pitcher Matt West (#76) from Triple-A Oklahoma City and placed left-handed pitcher Paco Rodriguez on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to May 30) with a left elbow strain.

West, 26, was acquired by the Dodgers from Toronto on May 4 and has combined to go 1-1 with one save and a 1 .46 ERA in 13 games with the Blue Jays' Double-A New Hampshire, and the Dodgers' Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City this year. He's limited opposing hitters to a .182 batting average with a 0.97 WHIP, while striking out 28 in 24.2 combined innings.

West made his Major League debut last season for Texas and appeared in three games (4.0 IP) out of the bullpen in July. He was originally selected by the Rangers in the second round (No. 80) of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft out of Bellaire High School in Houston.

Rodriguez has tossed scoreless relief in 15 of 18 appearances this season, posting a 2.61 ERA (3 ER/10.1 IP).
