Donaldson named Honda Player of the Month

TORONTO BLUE JAYS third baseman JOSH DONALDSON has captured the HONDA PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD for May in a unanimous vote by the TORONTO CHAPTER of the BBWAA. Honda, the official vehicle of the Blue Jays, will make a donation to the charity Josh's choosing.

DONALDSON, 29, batted .306 in May with eight doubles, an American League leading 10 home runs, 23 RBI and a 1.022 OPS. The Pensacola, Florida native finished off his month by earning AL Player of the Week honours, batting .440 with six home runs over his last six contests. Of his last five home runs, each have either tied the game, or given the Blue Jays the lead, including a walk-off home run on May 26 vs. CWS.  

Others receiving consideration were OF Chris Colabello (.368, 4HR, 14RBI), C Russ Martin (.327, 4HR, 11RB), RHP Roberto Osuna (.156 Opp. Avg., 2.31 ERA), RHP Aaron Sanchez (3-2, 3.29 ERA) and LHP Mark Buehrle (3-3, 4.99 ERA).
