Dodgers Place Van Slyke On DL, Recall Heisey

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today recalled outfielder Chris Heisey from Triple-A Oklahoma City and placed infielder/outfielder Scott Van Slyke on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to May 31) with left mid-back inflammation.

Heisey has appeared in five games in three stints for the Dodgers this year, going 1-for-9 with five walks and a .429 on-base percentage. He is tied for sixth in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League with 10 home runs in 28 games with Oklahoma City, while batting .234 with 19 RBI. Heisey, 30, was acquired in a trade with Cincinnati on Dec. 2, 2014 in exchange for Matt Magill.

Van Slyke is batting .264 with two homers and 14 RBI in 34 games this year.
