Indians to promote Urshela & Walters from Columbus; option Ramirez & Chisenhall to AAA Columbus

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

The club will recall INF GIOVANNY URSHELA (#39) and INF ZACH WALTERS (#6) from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, June 9.

Optioned INF LONNIE CHISENHALL and INF JOSE RAMIREZ to AAA Columbus following today's game.

Urshela, 23, will be making his debut at the Major League level on Tuesday. At AAA Columbus he has batted .275 (22-80) with 5 doubles, 1 triple, 3 home runs and 9 RBI in 21 games (.301/.475/.776). His season did not start until April 23 after missing all of the exhibition campaign with lower back inflammation and was also on the Triple-A disabled list with lower back stiffness from May 6-20.

Walters, 25, has spent most of the season at Triple-A Columbus, hitting .259 (29-112) with 7 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs and 15 RBI in 30 games (.309/.411/.720). For the Clippers he has appeared in 10 games in left field, 5 games at third base, 4 games at first base and second base and 3 games at shortstop. He began the year on the Major League DL with a strained left oblique prior to his April 24 activation and option to Columbus. He was with the Major League club from May 8-20, appearing in 7 games (1-for-17).

Chisenhall and Ramirez have spent the entire season at the Major League level. Chisenhall is batting .209 (37-177) with 10 2B, 1 3B, 4 HR & 19 RBI in 52 games while Ramirez is hitting .180 (27-150) with 6 2B, 1HR & 8 RBI in 46 games.
