Royals select pitcher Nolan Watson 33rd overall

KANSAS CITY, MO - The Kansas City Royals have selected Nolan Watson, a right-handed pitcher from Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, with the 33rd selection in the June Free Agent Draft.

Watson, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound hurler, was 6-1 with a 0.68 ERA this spring, striking out 81 over 51.2 innings. He joins fellow Indianapolis product and right-handed pitcher Ashe Russell, who the Royals selected with the 21st overall pick out of Cathedral Catholic High School.
