Rays, the Urban Conga partner to create play at Tropicana Field and Lykes Gaslight Park

As a part of the Rays Up for Kids campaign, the Tampa Bay Rays have announced a new partnership with The Urban Conga collective group of creators who promote community activity and physical social interaction through "play."

The partnership includes three projects that create a fun environment while promoting community activity and physical social interaction through "play."

"The Urban Conga partnership is an exciting opportunity to create 'play' and energize our community through the magic of Rays baseball," said Rays President Brian Auld.

During the offseason, The Urban Conga helped redesign the Right Field Street area of Tropicana Field with a new musical wall. Each of the bats are tuned to a different note and when played together compose "Take Me Out to the Ballgame". In another section of Right Field Street, large interchangeable cubes create mix and matched versions of Raymond and DJ Kitty.

The third project, a Rays branded yellow ping pong table, is located in downtown Tampa at Lykes Gaslight Park. Passersby can visit the Rays Team Store across from the park to pick up paddles and play.

"It's awesome to work with the Rays when you've grown up watching and playing baseball like myself," said The Urban Conga Founder Ryan Swanson. "Given the opportunity to work in the stadium that's right here in our backyard and be able to create this atmosphere here was a great opportunity. We were super excited."
