Cleveland Indians celebrate the 1995 A.L Championship team June 19 and 20

Cleveland, OH-The Cleveland Indians will honor the 1995 American League Champion team during a weekend celebration June 19 and 20. This year marks the 20th anniversary of that team's historic season, which included 100 wins, 12 walk-offs, and first visit to World Series in 41 years.

Players from the team will be in town throughout the weekend including:

  • Sandy Alomar
  • Chad Ogea
  • Paul Assenmacher
  • Dennis Martinez
  • Charles Nagy
  • Alvaro Espinoza
  • Jim Thome
  • Eric Plunk
  • Julian Tavarez
  • Herbert Perry

The celebration will begin on June 19 when the Indians take on the Tampa Bay Rays at 7:10PM. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:30PM for a special 1995 reunion pregame ceremony. The players outlined above will be available to media from 5:30-6:15PM in the Press Interview Room at Progressive Field.

Fans can enjoy Sugardale Dollar Dogs at Friday's game, pregame ceremony with all of the '95 alums, and post-game celebration with '95 A.L. Champs flag raising followed by fireworks set to the music of the 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. Carlos Baerga and Alvaro Espinoza will be available in the Right Field District from 6-6:30PM for meet and greets with fans.

On Saturday, fans are invited to attend the 1995 Indians Reunion event at PlayhouseSquare's Connor Palace Theatre. Attendees will enjoy an exclusive question-and-answer session with members of the team, followed by a VIP screening of "Wahoo! What a Finish!" Tickets can be purchased at Indians.com/1995 for $30 with all proceeds going to Cleveland Indians Charities. Media interested in attending this event can contact Joel Hammond to make arrangements.

Upon entering the ballpark Saturday night, 12,500 fans will receive an exclusive 1995 T-shirt designed by GV Art + Design and courtesy of Pepsi. The shirt, created specifically for this weekend, will not be available to the public outside of Saturday's game. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and be in their seats by 6:30PM on Saturday to enjoy the 1995 pregame celebration and presentation featuring appearances from the above Indians greats.
