Mariners recall outfielder James Jones from Triple-A Tacoma

Right-hander Danny Farquhar optioned to Triple-A Tacoma

SAN FRANCISCO -- Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager Jack Zduriencik announced today that outfielder James Jones has been recalled from AAA Tacoma. Right-handed pitcher Danny Farquhar was optioned to AAA Tacoma.

Jones will be in uniform (#99) and available for tonight's game at the Giants.

Jones, 26, has spent the entire season with AAA Tacoma, batting .264 (46x174) with 29 runs, 6 doubles, 4 triples, 1 home run, 13 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 48 games. In June, is hitting .342 (13x38) with 9 runs scored, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 1 RBI in 11 games (8 multi-hit games). He appeared in 108 games with Seattle last season, hitting .250 (78x312) with 46 runs scored, 9 doubles, 5 triples, 9 RBI and recorded a team-leading 27 stolen bases.

Farquhar, 28, is 0-3, 6.49 mark in 22 relief appearances in two stints with Seattle this season. He had been recalled from Tacoma on Saturday, June 13. With the Rainiers, Farquhar was 1-0, 6.75 (9.1 IP, 7 ER) in 5 games including 1 start.
