RHP Anthony Ranaudo recalled from Round Rock

1B-OF Kyle Blanks placed on 15-day disabled list

Los Angeles, CA - The Texas Rangers announced today that right-handed pitcher Anthony Ranaudo has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock and will start tonight's game against the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

To make room for Ranaudo, first baseman-outfielder Kyle Blanks has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 17, with left and right Achilles tendinitis.

Ranaudo is making his second start of the season for the Rangers as he lost a spot start to the Los Angeles Angels, 10-2 on April 15 in Arlington (1.2 IP, 6 H, 6 R-ER). The right-hander, who was acquired from Boston on January 27, 2015, is 7-1 with a 2.45 ERA in 11 starts at Round Rock.

Blanks was scratched from Wednesday's starting lineup due to the Achilles tendinitis. He was 2-for-8 in three games/two starts (1B and LF) since being activated from the DL on June 11. He was sidelined from May 20-June 10 for a surgical procedure on May 22 in New York to address a pilonidal cyst in the area of his tailbone that had been bothering him. Overall, he is hitting .313 with three homers and six RBI in 18 games with Texas this season.

The Rangers now have 15 players on the disabled list, including nine players on the 60-day DL.
