Giants welcome Padres and Rockies to town

Homestand features: Italian Heritage Night, Native American Heritage Night, Hello Kitty Day, and LGBT Night

SAN FRANCISCO, CA. - The 2014 World Champion San Francisco Giants return home for a six-game homestand against the San Diego Padres (June 23-25) and the Colorado Rockies (June 26-28).

 

Tuesday, June 23, is Italian Heritage Night, presented by Ghilotti Construction. Fans who purchase a special event ticket will receive a limited edition Italian themed Giants blanket, a seat in one of the Italian Heritage section for the game against the Padres, and access to the Italian Heritage Night pre-game party in Seals Plaza from 5:00-7:00 p.m., complete with pre-game cultural entertainment, and cultural food and drink specials available for purchase. Partial proceeds from each special event ticket sold will benefit cultural non-profits in the community.

 

Prior to Tuesday's game, Brandon Belt will meet with children from Bret Harte Elementary School as part of Major League Baseball Players Trust Buses for Baseball program. The Buses for Baseball program is very popular among the players in the league and helps provide transportation, game tickets, souvenirs and lasting memories for disadvantaged youth in the community. www.playerstrust.org

 

It is also Say Hey Tuesday as CSN Bay Area will host Yahoo! Sports Talk Live, Giants Pregame Live, and Giants Postgame Live from Willie Mays Plaza. Fans are invited to come out early and watch their favorite sports analysts. The first 500 fans who come to Willie Mays Plaza and get in line at the Comcast SportsNet tent will receive a Giants Scarf.

 

Wednesday, June 24, is Native American Heritage Night. Fans who purchase a special event ticket will receive a Native American themed Giants commemorative t-shirt, and a ticket to the game versus the Padres. Prior to the game, cultural performances will take place on the field for fans to enjoy. Partial proceeds from each special event ticket sold will benefit local Native American based charities.

 

Also on Wednesday, Giants Catcher, Buster Posey, will host 1,000 Junior Giants players during a pre-game Junior Giants Glove Giveaway. The event will include a Q&A session with Buster Posey and Giants broadcaster Duane Kuiper. Buster Posey will also donate a new baseball glove and ticket to that night's game for each Junior Giant in attendance.

 

Thursday, June 25, is Peanut Allergy Friendly Day at AT&T Park. Fans who purchase a Peanut Allergy Friendly ticket will receive seating in a special Peanut Controlled Section during the game versus the Padres.

 

Friday, June 26, is LGBT Night presented by Blupe. Fans who purchase a special event ticket will receive a limited edition LGBT themed Giants t-shirt, a ticket to the game versus the Rockies, and access to the LGBT Night pre-game party in Seals Plaza from 5:00-7:00 p.m. complete with pre-game cultural entertainment, and cultural food and drink specials available for purchase. Partial proceeds from each special event ticket sold will benefit local non-profits in the LGBT community.

 

In addition, Friday is Fireworks Night, presented by Snapple. The Fireworks display will take place following the game versus the Rockies.

 

On Saturday, June 27, the first 20,000 fans will receive Giants World Champions Skyline Socks, presented by Johnsonville. On Saturday morning prior to the game, the Giants Brewfest will take place at AT&T Park. The special event ticket package will include a ticket to the game against the Rockies, and a commemorative Giants bottle opener. In addition, fans will have access to the two hour Brewfest on Terry Francois Boulevard from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., complete with live entertainment.

 

Saturday is also Girl Scout Day, presented by AT&T. Fans who purchase a special event ticket will receive a collector's edition 2014 World Champions Giants Girl Scout Patch, and a ticket to the game versus the Rockies. Prior to the game, all Girl Scouts and Scout Leaders will be invited to participate in a pregame ceremony on the field to honor the scouts. Partial proceeds from each special event ticket sold will benefit Girl Scouts of America. The Giants are also teaming up with BAWSI (Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative) and Coaching Corps. to recognize Bay Area women in sports who are champions on and off the field. Members of the Cal Women's Swimming and Diving team and the Stanford Women's Gymnastics team will be honored on the field in a pregame ceremony for winning the 2015 NCAA Championships in their respective sports.

 

On Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, Marty Lurie and Patrick Connor will broadcast live from the patio at Public House, leading up to the Giants pre-game show on KNBR 680.

 

Sunday, June 28, is Hello Kitty Day at AT&T Park. The first 20,000 fans who enter the park will receive a Hello Kitty Giants Bobblehead. Special event ticket holders will also receive a collector's edition World Champions Hello Kitty Giants themed Gnome, and a ticket to the game versus the Rockies. Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase a VIP special event ticket, which will give them access to the Triples Alley Premium Location from 10:35 am- 12:35 p.m. for complimentary food and beverage, as well as a special VIP-item.

 

Additionally on Sunday, all kids 14-years and younger are invited to come run the bases following the game, presented by See's Candies. Sunday is also the Giants official autograph day, when selected players, coaches, and alumni sign autographs following the conclusion of batting practice. Autographs are for kids 16 and under.

 

The Giants Wives Charity Auction will also take place this homestand. The online auction starts Tuesday, June 23 and runs through Sunday, June 28. There will be a silent auction on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27 at the Community Clubhouse featuring player "favorite things" baskets. Proceeds benefit the Giants Community Fund, the George Mark Children's House and the San Francisco Homeless Prenatal Program.
