Altuve gaining ground in voting for 2015 MLB All-Star Game

Astros hosting Voting Parties; Deadline for voting is Thursday, July 2

HOUSTON, TX - Updated American League All-Star voting totals released today by Major League Baseball revealed that Astros second baseman Jose Altuve moved over 200,000 votes closer to the lead for second basemen.

Altuve's 7,282,934 votes trail Royals second baseman Omar Infante (7,514,642) by 231,708 votes. Last week, Altuve trailed Infante by over 435,000 votes. Altuve has received solid support from All-Star voters this season. His current vote total is higher than all but three NL players (Paul Goldschmidt, Bryce Harper and Buster Posey).

The deadline for All-Star voting is Thursday, July 2nd at 10:59 p.m. CT. Fans can vote online at Astros.com/vote.
