Royals select contract of Dusty Coleman; option Christian Colon to Omaha

KANSAS CITY, MO (July 3, 2015) - The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have selected the contract of infielder Dusty Coleman from Triple-A Omaha and added him to the 25-man Major League roster. In a corresponding roster move, the club has optioned infielder Christian Colon to Omaha. The addition of Coleman brings the Royals' 40-man roster to 40 players.

Coleman, 28, will be in uniform (#43) for tonight's 7:10 p.m. game against the Minnesota Twins. He has split the 2015 season between Northwest Arkansas (AA) and Omaha, batting .304 (73-for-241) with 17 doubles, a triple, seven homers and 35 RBI in 69 games combined between the two stops. He signed a minor league contract with KC this offseason after spending the first seven years of his professional career in the Oakland organization. Coleman played collegiately at Wichita (Kan.) State University and resides in Shawnee, Kan.
