Twins Players, Wives and Staff give back to the community during Hope Week

The Minnesota Twins players, wives and front office staff will take part in the organization's fifth annual Hope Week, a week dedicated to giving back to the community. During each day of Hope Week, different Twins players will lead groups of teammates in participating in various volunteer activities. Hope Week is an effort by the ball club to reach into the community and make a difference in peoples' lives.

Monday, July 6 (10 a.m. - Noon): Twins staff, along with Delaware North Sportservice staff, will be hosting a dresser build at Target Field to benefit Bridging. Bridging is a furniture bank that works to bridge the gap between those in need and those who have excess. At Monday's event volunteers will construct fifty dressers which will go to families transitioning out of homelessness.

Tuesday, July 7 (11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.): Joe Mauer will host "Picnic in the Park." Twins players and staff will enjoy a picnic lunch with patients from Gillette Children's Hospital at Target Field.

Wednesday, July 8 (9 - 10 a.m.): Brian Dozier will host a Miracle League Clinic at Target Field. Dozier and teammates will put on a mini-clinic for kids from the Miracle League to help them play baseball.

Thursday, July 9 (10:30 a.m. - Noon): Led by Glen Perkins, Twins players will take kids fishing at Lake Harriet in Minneapolis. A professional angler will accompany them to help teach the children how to fish. They will then gather for a picnic lunch.
