A's Place RHP Hahn on 15-Day DL; Recall RHP Bassitt from Nashville

The Oakland A's have placed right-handed pitcher Jesse Hahn on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to July 6 with a right forearm strain, the team announced today. To take his spot on the roster, the A's recalled right-handed pitcher Chris Bassitt from Triple-A Nashville to start tonight against Cleveland.

Hahn is 6-6 with a 3.35 ERA in 16 starts for the A's. His last start was July 1, a 4-1 A's win against Colorado (6.0 ip, 4 h, 1 r, 1 er, 2 bb, 6 so). Hahn is 5-2 with a 2.42 ERA over his last eight starts. He went 1-1 with a 2.12 ERA over his first three starts. He left his third start April 18 at Kansas City with a blister and missed his turn in the rotation April 23. Hahn went 0-3 with a 5.86 ERA over a five start stretch from April 29 to May 20. This is Hahn's first career stint on the disabled list.

Bassitt is 0-2 with a 2.95 ERA in seven games, including two starts, for the A's. He is joining the A's for his third stint this year. Bassitt was called up for the first time April 23 and logged a 3.38 ERA in five relief appearances. However, he walked nine batters in 10.2 innings and was optioned back to Nashville May 11. He returned June 30 to make two starts for an ill Sonny Gray. Bassitt lost both of the starts, 2-1, but allowed just three runs in 10.2 innings (2.53 ERA). He walked just one batter and was sent back to Nashville following his start last Sunday.
