Troy Tulowitzki named to National League All-Star team

National League All-Star manager Bruce Bochy of the San Francisco Giants announced today, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, that Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki will replace second baseman Dee Gordon of the Miami Marlins on the NL's active roster for the 86^th All-Star Game. In addition, Rockies second baseman DJ LeMahieu will replace the fan-elected Gordon in the starting lineup as a result of his standing on the NL Player Ballot. 

Gordon, who was named to his second consecutive All-Star Game, was elected a starter by the fans for the first time in his career. The speedy Gordon leads the Majors with 122 hits and paces the NL with 33 stolen bases. The 27-year-old is batting .338 on the season with a home run, 22 RBI, 16 doubles, four triples and 46 runs scored. Gordon, who will be inactive during the All-Star Game, is invited to Cincinnati with full All-Star honors. Tulowitzki, who was the NL's fan-elected shortstop in each of the last two years, is now an All-Star for the fifth time in his career (also 2010-11). The 30-year old is hitting .314 on the season with nine home runs, 46 RBI, 19 doubles and 43 runs scored. Tulowitzki joins his fellow Rockies infielders Nolan Arenado and LeMahieu on the NL All-Star roster. 

The 2015 All-Star Game will be played at Great American Ball Park on Tuesday, July 14^th. The 86^th All-Star Game will be televised nationally by FOX Sports; in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and RDS; and worldwide by partners in more than 160 countries.
