White Sox and Maytag® brand launch 'Million Dollar Home Run' at U.S. Cellular Field

Promotion Offers Chance for Maytag to Donate $1 Million to Local Boys & Girls Clubs

CHICAGO - The Chicago White Sox are teaming with Maytag Brand to bring the chance for a "Million Dollar Home Run" to U.S. Cellular Field as part of a national agreement with Maytag brand, the White Sox and Major League Baseball.

Through the "Million Dollar Home Run" promotion, a Maytag® Top Load Washer will be installed in the visitor's bullpen beginning Friday, July 17 and remain through the rest of the season. If a White Sox player or a player from the visiting team hits a home run and the ball lands inside the washer, Maytag will donate $1 million to the local Boys & Girls Clubs.

"We are very excited to bring the Maytag Top Load Washer into our home at U.S. Cellular Field through this innovative opportunity," said Brooks Boyer, White Sox senior vice president of sales and marketing. "'Million Dollar Home Run' is an exciting promotion for our fans and an opportunity to support a good cause and give back to the community."

In addition, Maytag brand will deliver its power to beat big league stains with the installation of a new washer in the White Sox clubhouse. The agreement between Maytag and MLB designated Maytag as the official washer and dryer of MLB for 2015.

The White Sox are one of four MLB teams to partner with Maytag brand for the "Million Dollar Home Run" activation, joining the Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers. Maytag, now the Official Washer and Dryer of MLB, is running a full-scale national marketing and advertising campaign, including "Filthiest Plays of the Week" promotion. Fans have the power to decide their favorite "filthiest" plays by voting on Twitter using the #FilthiestPlay hashtag. For more information, visit MLB.com/Maytag.
