Mariners recall RHP Tom Wilhelmsen
NEW YORK, NY - Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik announced that right-handed pitcher Tom Wilhelmsen has been recalled from AAA Tacoma.
Wilhelmsen (#54) will be available for tonight's game against the Yankees in New York.
Wilhelmsen, 31, was 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA (0 ER, 4.0 IP) with 2 strikeouts in four appearances with AAA Tacoma after being optioned post game on July 3. With Seattle, he was 1-2 with a 4.68 ERA (13 ER, 25.0 IP) with 28 strikeouts in 22 relief appearances this season, including a 12.15 ERA (9 ER, 6.2 IP) over his last 7 appearances after starting the season with a 1.96 ERA (4 ER, 18.1 IP) with 21 strikeouts in his first 15 games.
Wilhelmsen fills the roster spot left open when right-hander Danny Farquhar was optioned post game on July 12.
