Dodgers Reinstate Carl Crawford from DL

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today reinstated outfielder Carl Crawford from the 60-day disabled list (right oblique strain) and optioned right-handed pitcher Brandon Beachy to Triple-A Oklahoma City. To create room on the 40-man roster, Los Angeles designated right-handed pitcher Preston Guilmet for assignment.

Crawford, 33, has missed the last 75 games and was batting .245 with a homer and three RBI in 15 games with the Dodgers prior to suffering the injury on April 27 against the Giants. The Houston, TX, native played 10 rehab games for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga (2 G) and Triple-A Oklahoma City (8 G), hitting a combined .353 with two doubles, two triples, a homer and eight RBI.

Beachy, 28, made two starts with the Dodgers, going 0-1 with a 7.88 ERA (7 ER/8.0 IP), after being reinstated from the 60-day disabled list (Tommy John surgery) on July 11. He was signed by the club as a free agent on Feb. 21.

Guilmet, 27, was claimed by the Dodgers from Tampa Bay on July 10 and made three appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City, allowing one run in 3.0 innings of relief.
