A's Acquire LHP Felix Doubront from Toronto

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's acquired left-handed pitcher Felix Doubront from the Toronto Blue Jays for cash considerations, the club announced today. A 25-man move will be announced once Doubront reports to Oakland.

Doubront has split the first four months of the season between Toronto and Triple-A Buffalo. He appeared in five games (four starts) with the Jays, going 1-1 with a 4.76 ERA. In nine games (all starts) with Buffalo this season, he went 1-3 with a 2.44 ERA and struck out 43 batters in 48.0 innings. He allowed three earned runs or fewer in eight of his nine starts with Buffalo.

Doubront was designated for assignment by Toronto on July 29 after the Jays acquired Troy Tulowitzki.
