White Sox place Daniel Webb on 15-day disabled list; reinstate Nate Jones from 60-day disabled list

CHICAGO - Prior to today's series finale vs. Tampa Bay, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Daniel Webb on the 15-day disabled list with a mid right back strain, returned right-hander Nate Jones from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 60-day disabled list.

Jones, 29, began the season on the disabled list while recovering from Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in a procedure performed on July 29, 2014. He appeared in three games with Class A Winston-Salem and six with Class AAA Charlotte on a rehab assignment, compiling a 1.93 ERA (2 ER/9.1 IP).

Jones has not pitched in the major leagues since April 3, 2014 vs. Minnesota. He is 12-5 with a 3.55 ERA (59 ER/149.2 IP) and 154 strikeouts in 137 relief appearances over three seasons (2012-14) with the Sox.

Webb, 25, has gone 1-0 with a 2.49 ERA (6 ER/21.2 IP) and 15 strikeouts in 17 relief appearances this season.

The 40-man roster increases to 39.
