Mets Announce partnership with Child Abuse Prevention Services To Combat Bullying

The New York Mets today announced a partnership with Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) on a campaign to prevent bullying in recognition of October's Bullying Prevention Awareness month.

The Mets and CAPS will work together on the following initiatives:

  • Jacob deGrom and Michael Cuddyer will be featured in a 30-second PSA for CAPS's classroom based training, which will be posted on social media, shown at Citi Field and distributed for airing on local cable stations.
  • The two players also created a longer video to talk about bullying and helpful strategies, which will be used in CAPS's classroom training and posted on social media.
  • CAPS will hold a contest for high school students to develop and implement a bully prevention activity. The winners will come to Citi Field to meet Mets players, watch batting practice on the field and be recognized in a pre-game ceremony.
  • Mr. Met will participate in the recognition of a Long Island middle school that is actively working to prevent bullying in November.

The Mets and CAPS will also work on additional opportunities throughout the year to encourage students to Strike Out Bullying.
