Royals announce roster moves Thursday
KANSAS CITY, MO (November 5, 2015) - The Kansas City Royals announced several roster moves on Thursday. The Royals have exercised their club options on right-handed pitcher Wade Davis and shortstop Alcides Escobar. Consistent with club policy, terms of the options were not disclosed.
The club will also make a qualifying offer to outfielder Alex Gordon on Friday when the free agency period begins. On Wednesday, Gordon turned down his player option with the team for the 2016 season.
Kansas City has also declined its club option with outfielder Jonny Gomes, making him a free agent. The Royals have also reinstated left-handed pitchers Tim Collins, Brian Flynn and Jason Vargas from the 60-day D.L., bringing the club's reserve list to 34 players.
