Royals partner with City Union Mission for Thanksgiving feast Tuesday

The Kansas City Royals will again help area families in need this holiday season by volunteering for the 10th-straight year at City Union Mission on Tuesday.

A group of Royals employees will be serving a Thanksgiving feast at the Family Center, located at 1310 Wabash in Kansas City, Mo., beginning at noon. Another group of employees will volunteer at the mission's Men's Center, located at 1108 E. 10th St., starting at 12:30 p.m.

Since 1924, City Union Mission has provided warm beds, nutritious food and a safe place for thousands of poverty stricken and homeless men, women and children in the Kansas City area. The ministry receives no government support and relies solely on support from individuals, churches, foundations, organizations and businesses. Through their two locations, which are both open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, City Union Mission offers half of the emergency shelter beds in downtown Kansas City.
