Pirates acquire Allen Webster from Arizona

The Pittsburgh Pirates today acquired right-handed pitcher Allen Webster from Arizona in exchange for cash considerations. The announcement was made by Pirates Executive Vice President, General Manager Neal Huntington.

The 25-year-old Webster went 1-1 with a 5.81 ERA (31.0ip/20er) in nine appearances (five starts) last year for Arizona. He also went 4-6 in 18 starts for Triple-A Reno in 2015.

Webster broke into the big leagues in 2013 with Boston and has a career record of 7-6 with a 6.13 ERA in 28 appearances (23 starts) in the Major Leagues.

With the addition of Webster, there are now 40 players on Pittsburgh's 40-man roster.
