Date changed announced for SDSU vs. USD basketball at Petco Park

Game moved to Sunday, December 6 due to Mountain West Conference Football Championship

SAN DIEGO - It was announced today that the San Diego State University vs. University of San Diego men's basketball game at Petco Park has been moved to Sunday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. PT. The first college basketball game in Petco Park's history was previously scheduled for Saturday, December 5 at the same time. The change was made to avoid conflict with the Mountain West Conference Football Championship game, which the San Diego State Aztecs will host at Qualcomm Stadium the afternoon of Saturday, December 5.

Tickets already purchased for the basketball game will be valid on the new date. Refunds will not be issued as a result of the date change. This will mark the 18th consecutive season the teams have played each other and only the second time they have played on a neutral site (Dec. 1, 1992 at the then-San Diego Sports Arena). Tickets to see the Aztecs vs. the Toreros are still available and can be purchased by visiting www.padres.com/bball

The game is the jewel event of the weeklong Bill Walton Basketball Festival, which tips off tomorrow morning on the outdoor basketball court that has been built on Petco Park's infield. Throughout the week, local businesses, schools and nonprofit organizations will utilize the court. Several CIF high school games will take place on the court, and Basketball Hall of Famer Bill Walton will make several appearances during the course of the week. Additional information, including the full schedule, can be found at www.padres.com/bball.
