Royals, Tim Collins agree to contract for 2016

KANSAS CITY, MO (November 30, 2015) - The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have agreed to terms with left-handed pitcher Tim Collins on a Major League contract for the 2016 season. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Collins, 26, missed the entire 2015 season after having season-ending 'Tommy John' surgery on March 11. He's made 228 career relief appearances with the Royals since the 2011 season, going 12-17 with a 3.54 ERA, recording 220 strikeouts in 211.0 career innings. The lefty posted a 3.18 ERA in four postseason appearances in 2014, allowing two runs in 5.2 frames.

Prior to the Tender Date on Wednesday, the Royals have seven remaining arbitration eligible players: pitchers Louis Coleman, Danny Duffy and Greg Holland; catcher Drew Butera; infielder Mike Moustakas and outfielders Lorenzo Cain and Jarrod Dyson.
