Red Sox Foundation, Globe Santa will bring warm clothing to children

The Red Sox Foundation has partnered with Globe Santa this holiday season to collect warm winter clothing for children in need. Starting today, and through December 12, fans are encouraged to donate new hats, scarves, gloves, and mittens for children 12 and under at Fenway Park.

Globe Santa is a program of the Boston Globe Foundation that delivers books, toys, and other holiday gifts to children across the Commonwealth who would otherwise go without. On average it serves over 50,000 children each holiday season.

Items for donation may be placed in the collection bin located at Fenway Park's Gate D entrance near the corner of Yawkey Way and Van Ness Street. Additional collection bins will be available throughout the ballpark on December 12 during the club's annual Christmas at Fenway event.

"Each winter, one of the greatest requests from families in need is warm winter clothing for their children," said Red Sox Foundation Executive Director Gena Borson. "By partnering with Globe Santa, we hope to provide these winter essentials for the thousands of young children served by this decades-long program."

Fans unable to drop items off in person may mail them to the attention of the Red Sox Foundation's Globe Santa Collection at 4 Yawkey Way, Boston, MA, 02215.

All items must be new and in sizes appropriate for children 12 and under.
