Marlins RBI Senior Division Team to receive 2015 RBI World Series championship rings on December 18 at Marlins Park

WHAT:           Members from the 2015 Marlins RBI Senior Division Team will receive their Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) World Series rings. The RBI World Series Ring Ceremony will take place in the First Base Dugout Club at Marlins Park, with Dee Gordon and Tom Koehler in attendance.
 
The Senior Division championship is the organization's first since 2004, and marks the second consecutive baseball championship, fourth overall, for the Miami Marlins RBI program - the organization won the Junior Baseball Division Championship at the 2014 RBI World Series. In August, Marlins RBI defeated Harrisburg RBI 5-4 at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas, and finished the tournament with a 5-1 record. Miami shortstop Bryan Lavastida, who scored the decisive run for Miami, was named the Most Valuable Player of the championship game.

About Marlins RBI
Marlins RBI is an invitational sports based youth program designed to promote interest in baseball, academic achievement and social responsibility in underserved areas of South Florida. The Marlins supply uniforms, umpires and equipment to more than 500 children annually. All participants enjoy a fun and competitive summer league, clinics hosted by Marlins players, coaches and alumni, the opportunity to participate in our career workshop series, invitation to RBI Night with an on-field recognition ceremony, and the opportunity to be selected for the RBI All-Star team that competes in the Southeast Regional Tournament. The program offers free, instructional, and competitive summer baseball & fast pitch softball for youth ages 13-18.
