A's Agree to Terms with RHP Jarrod Parker on One-Year Contract

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Jarrod Parker on a one-year contract for the 2016 season, the club announced today.

Parker began his rehab from March 24, 2014 Tommy John surgery on April 23 but made just four starts before re-injuring the elbow May 8. He combined for a 2-1 record and a 5.79 ERA in his four starts with Single-A Stockton and Triple-A Nashville. Parker underwent season-ending surgery May 19 with Dr. James Andrews at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Fla. His previous revised ulnar collateral ligament did not need repairing and the avulsed medial epicondyle fracture was cleaned up and repaired.

The A's have four remaining players eligible for arbitration including Yonder Alonso, Josh Reddick, Fernando Rodriguez and Danny Valencia.
