Pirates acquire Kyle Lobstein from Detroit

The Pittsburgh Pirates today acquired left-handed pitcher Kyle Lobstein from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for cash considerations. The announcement was made by Pirates Executive President, General Manager Neal Huntington.

The 26-year-old Lobstein began the 2015 season in the Detroit starting rotation and went on to make 13 appearances (11 starts) with the Tigers. He made his Major League debut with Detroit on 8/23/14 and picked up his rst big league win on 9/7/14 vs. San Francisco.

Originally selected by Tampa Bay in the second round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, Lobstein was selected by the Mets in the Rule 5 Draft on 12/6/12 prior to being acquired by Detroit the same day.
