The results of the 2016 National Baseball Hall of Fame ballot will be announced at a new time, 6:00 p.m. ET, this Wednesday, January 6, live exclusively on MLB Network and simulcast on MLB.com, as part of a four-hour announcement show beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET. As the exclusive home of the election announcement since 2009, MLB Network's program will feature National Baseball Hall of Fame President Jeff Idelson revealing the results and the first interviews with any electees.
Anchored by Greg Amsinger and Brian Kenny, the program will feature Bob Costas, Al Leiter, Harold Reynolds, 2015 Hall of Fame inductee John Smoltz, Christopher Russo, and Hall of Fame voters Jon Heyman, Peter Gammons, Ken Rosenthal, Joel Sherman and Tom Verducci, examining this year's 32 Hall of Fame candidates through traditional and sabermetric analysis. MLB Network's coverage will discuss the history of the Hall of Fame and what future Hall of Fame classes might look like
Leading up to Wednesday, MLB Network will air MLB Network Presents: Randy Johnson, The Big Picture, tomorrow, January 5 at 9:00 p.m. ET.Narrated by Metallica lead singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer James Hetfield, the program features new footage from last year's Hall of Fame weekend, including Johnson's thoughts on being inducted. Following Randy Johnson, The Big Picture, MLB Network will air Insiders' View - Hall of Fame presented by Delta Airlinesat 10:00 p.m. ET. In the one-hour roundtable show, Costas, Verducci, Russo and MLB Network analyst Mike Lowell will debate this year's ballot and if voters should evaluate closers and designated hitters differently. 
MLB Network's analysis of the Hall of Fame announcement will be featured throughout the day on Wednesday, beginning with Hot Stove hosted by Matt Vasgersian and Harold Reynolds at 9:00 a.m. ET, High Heat with Christopher Russo presented by Liberty Mutual at 1:00 p.m. ET, MLB Now hosted by Brian Kenny at 2:00 p.m. ET, and MLB Network's signature studio show, MLB Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET.
On Thursday, January 7, MLB Network and MLB.com will cover the National Baseball Hall of Fame press conference with any electees from New York, followed by in-studio interviews with any electees at MLB Network later that day. The 2016 National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Sunday, July 24 and air exclusively on MLB Network and MLB.com.
