CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today named 1B BOBBY BRADLEY the Lou Boudreau Award winner (top organizational position player) and RHP MIKE CLEVINGER the Bob Feller Award recipient (top pitcher) for the 2015 Minor League season.
Bradley, 19, spent the majority of the season with the Single-A Lake County where he hit .269 (108-401) with a Midwest League-leading 27 home runs, 92 RBI and a .361 on-base percentage in 108 games. The 2014 Arizona League MVP was tied for 9th in home runs among all Minor League players and also led the Midwest League in RBI. Bradley was named the Indians Minor League Player of the Month in August (11HR, 38RBI, 29G) and was named the Midwest League Player of the Week on three separate occasions (June 8-15, July 27-Aug. 3, Aug. 10-17).
The Indians 3rd round selection of the 2014 draft was promoted to Advanced-A Lynchburg at the end of the season, appearing in 2 games with the Hillcats. The 6-1, 225-pound first baseman was named the 9th-best prospect in the Midwest League as well as a Low Class A All-Star by Baseball America following his 2015 campaign.
Clevinger, 25, enjoyed a breakout 2015 season, going 9-8 with a 2.73 ERA in 27 games/26 starts with AA Akron, tallying the 3rd-most strikeouts, the second-lowest WHIP and the 4th-lowest average against in all of Double-A (158.0IP, 127H, 48ER, 8HR, 40BB, 145SO, .219avg, 1.06whip). In his first taste of Double-A ball, the right-hander led the organization in strikeouts and was 2nd in ERA while finishing in the top 5 of the Eastern League in ERA (5th), strikeouts (2nd) and WHIP (2nd). Clevinger worked 5.0-or-more innings in all but two starts in 2015, while holding opponents to 4-or-fewer runs in each outing. The Jacksonville, Florida native was promoted to Columbus for the postseason, winning both his starts while tossing 15.1 scoreless innings (5 hits, 17SO) for the Governors' Cup champs.
The 6-4 right-hander was acquired from the LA Angels in August 2014 in exchange for RHP Vinnie Pestano. He owns a professional ERA of 3.53 (308.2IP, 269H, 121ER) and a 14-14 record in 64 games/59 starts since being selected by Los Angeles-AL in the 4th round of the 2011 draft out of Seminole Community College (Sanford, FL).
