The Texas Rangers today announced that the club will add a new left field video board at Globe Life Park in Arlington for the 2016 season. The LED video display will be located on far left side of office building roof above the area of the visiting bullpen and will provide video board coverage for nearly every fan in the park.

Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota will design, manufacture, and install the new board, which will be 34 feet high by 94 feet wide. Daktronics previously installed Globe Life Park's video boards in right field and center field as well as a new IPTV system prior to the 2011 season. Those products were added to the main video, fence, and fascia displays installed by Daktronics in 2009, an upgrade to the main board in right field that was originally put in place in 2003, when the partnership between the Rangers and Daktronics began.

"We owe Texas Rangers fans nothing but the best fan experience when they visit Globe Life Park in Arlington," commented Rangers Executive Vice President, Ballpark Entertainment and Productions Chuck Morgan. "The addition of a new Daktronics HD quality video board in left field falls right in line with our ownership's commitment to having the best ballpark experience for our fans.   Just as the Globe Life Park upgrades have done in previous years, the addition of this video board will add to the in-stadium experience and create a unique atmosphere that you cannot get at home."

The new board will feature the same 15HD pixel layout as the current video displays in right and center fields but will have a higher brightness level to combat the direct sunlight that it will receive in left field. Its wide angle visibility will appeal to a vast majority of seats in Globe Life Park.

Globe Life Park in Arlington will also feature new foul poles in 2016. The new structures will remain 92 feet in height but will be nearly double in width to provide added strength. The poles will be approximately 20 inches in diameter at the base decreasing to 12 inches at the top. The poles are made of structural pipe and are fabricated by Bratton Steel of Dallas. The installation will be performed by Taurus Commercial, Inc. of Farmers Branch.
