D-backs acquire RHP Cody Hall from Giants

The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) have acquired right-handed pitcher Cody Hall (@C_Hall18) from the San Francisco Giants for a player to be named later or cash considerations, as announced by D-backs Sr. Vice President & General Manager Dave Stewart.
In a corresponding move, the D-backs designated right-handed pitcher Matt Stites for assignment.
Hall, 28, spent the majority of the 2015 season with Triple-A Sacramento, going 1-3 with 3 saves and a 3.46 ERA (26 ER in 67.2 IP) in 43 relief appearances. He made his Major League debut as a September call-up in 2015, making 7 appearances out of the bullpen for San Francisco. He was designated for assignment on January 8th.
In 5 Minor League seasons in the Giants organization, the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder was 13-11 with 49 saves and a 2.62 ERA (74 ER in 254.1 IP) in 204 relief appearances. Hall owns a lifetime 10.37 strikeouts-per-9.0 innings (293 SO in 254.1 IP), and was regarded as the 22nd-best prospect in the Giants system by MLB.com entering the 2016 season. He was selected by San Francisco in the 19thround of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of Southern University.
Stites, 25, appeared 11 games out of the bullpen for the D-backs last season, posting a 12.46 ERA (12 ER in 8.2 IP). Over parts of 2 Major League seasons with Arizona, he is 0-0 with a 7.13 ERA (33 ER in 41.2 IP) in 48 games.
