The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Tanner Scheppers on a one-year contract for the 2016 season. No further terms were disclosed.
Scheppers had been eligible for salary arbitration. With this agreement, the Rangers now have three remaining players eligible for salary arbitration: left-handed pitcher Jake Diekman, first baseman Mitch Moreland, and right-handed pitcher Shawn Tolleson.
Scheppers had a 4-1 record and 5.63 ERA over 42 relief appearances with Texas in 2015.
