The Blue Jays have acquired OF Darrell Ceciliani from the New York Mets in exchange for a player to be named later.
Ceciliani, 25, posted a .206 average in his rookie season with one home run and five stolen bases (39 games) for New York. The Tracy, California native added a .345 average with 19 doubles, four triples, nine home runs and 16 stolen bases in just 70 games at Las Vegas (AAA). Originally drafted by the Mets in the 4th round of the 2009 draft, the left-handed hitter owns a .290 average with 125 stolen bases over six minor league seasons.
