The Toronto Blue Jays would like to congratulate the 2016 class of inductees to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. We are very pleased by the inclusion of former Blue Jays broadcaster Tony Kubek, former scout Wayne Norton along with current Toronto Blue Jays, Pat Hentgen and Howard Starkman.
"The club is thrilled to hear the news that the gentlemen elected today are being recognized by the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. Their impact on the Blue Jays over the years not only enriched our organization, but enhanced the game throughout the country. Pat and Howard in particular continue to add valuable contributions today and the honour is richly deserved"…Stephen Brooks, Senior Vice President, Business Operations.
Cy Young Award winner Pat Hentgen remains incredibly passionate about both the Toronto Blue Jays and our great game of baseball. He was both an All-Star and a World Series Champion and continues to enhance the organization daily in his role as Special Assistant to the organization.
Howard Starkman was one of the first employees of the club in 1976 and his positive influence on the club remains on a daily basis in his current role as a consultant to the organization. He is greatly respected within Major League Baseball and embodies the values of the Toronto Blue Jays.
These gentlemen will be on hand for the 2016 Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame Induction ceremony in St. Marys, Ontario on Saturday, June 18.
