SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres announced several hires and promotions among the Major League staff and Baseball Operations department. Among new hires, the club has brought on Mark Rogow to serve as the Major League squad's new head athletic trainer as well as Casey Myers who will serve as Major League staff coordinator. In the baseball operations department, the club has promoted Pete DeYoung to director of professional scouting as well as Ben Sestanovich to assistant director of player development. Also in baseball operations the Padres have promoted Brian McBurney to director of baseball research and development and hired Matt Klotsche as director of baseball information services, both of whom will work closely with Wells Oliver, the club's architect of baseball systems, in developing the organization's information systems, analytic capabilities and adoption of new technologies.
 Rogow joins the Padres after spending the previous five years working with the United States Department of Defense, serving most recently as sports medicine program manager for the Naval Special Warfare (Navy SEALS). He brings over 20 years of experience working as an athletic trainer in professional baseball with the New York Mets (2006-10) and Pittsburgh Pirates (1991-2005).
Myers joins the organization after spending the past two seasons with Auburn University (AL) and will serve as Major League staff coordinator. A graduate of Arizona State University, Myers also coached in the Oakland Athletics organization for five seasons from 2009-13 before joining Auburn. DeYoung enters his 11^th season in the Padres organization and first full season as director of professional scouting after spending the previous five seasons as West Coast regional supervisor. Klotsche joins the Padres after spending the previous eight seasons with the Texas Rangers, most recently as manager of amateur scouting. McBurney enters his sixth season with the Padres organization while Sestanovich enters his seventh.
