SCOTTSDALE, Arizona - The Colorado Rockies announced Friday that they have signed infielder-outfielder Ryan Raburn to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Major League Spring Training.
The right-handed hitting Raburn, who turns 35 on April 17, arrived in camp today and will work out with the team for the first time Saturday. He will wear #6.  
Raburn played in 82 games for the Cleveland Indians last season, primarily as the designated hitter and in the outfield. He hit .301 (52-for-173) with 16 doubles, one triple, eight home runs and 29 RBI. He was 6-for-22 (.273) with three doubles and eight RBI as a pinch-hitter in 2015.  
In 809 games (551 starts) over parts of 10 Major League seasons with the Detroit Tigers (2004, 2007-12) and Indians (2013-15), Raburn is a .256 (560-for-2,184) hitter with 303 runs, 136 doubles, nine triples, 82 home runs and 322 RBI.   In 10 postseason games with the Tigers (2011) and Indians (2013), he has a career average of .290 (9-for-31) with two doubles, two home runs and five RBI.  
A native of Tampa, Florida, Raburn attended Durant High School, the University of Florida and South Florida Community College. He was selected by the Tigers in the fifth round of the 2001 First-Year Player Draft. Raburn made his Major League debut with Detroit on Sept. 12, 2004.
During his career, Raburn has played 561 games in the outfield, including 316 in left field, 210 in right and 35 in center. He has played 145 games at second base, 33 at third and 14 at first. He has played in 99 games (57 starts) as the designated hitter.
