March 8th, 2016

NESN, the official home of the Boston Red Sox, will broadcast a special Red Sox Foundation Game Night, presented by Biogen Foundation, on Tuesday, March 15. The telecast will tell stories of the foundation's impact on families throughout New England during the Red Sox-Yankees telecast from JetBlue Park. NESN and the Red Sox debuted this special broadcast during the 2014 Spring Training season.
Coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. with a special 30-minute Red Sox Foundation Game Night pre-game show. The telecast will include limited commercial interruptions and continue until the start of that night's Bruins coverage. The Bruins take on the San Jose Sharks at 10:00 p.m.
Red Sox Foundation Honorary Chairman and NESN studio analyst Tim Wakefield will be part of the NESN broadcast alongside Dave O'Brien and Jerry Remy. Representatives from the foundation's cornerstone programs will also be on hand to talk about the work being done at the Jimmy Fund, the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program, the Red Sox Scholars Program, Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI), and The Dimock Center, among others.
"This telecast is a wonderful way to share the important work of the Red Sox Foundation with viewers across New England," said Red Sox Foundation Honorary Chairman Tim Wakefield. "For a decade and a half, the foundation has made significant philanthropic contributions to our community - a testament to the generosity of our owners, players, fans, and sponsors, and the hard work of our foundation and front office. We look forward to telling the stories of the people and organizations who have benefited, and hope to inspire those watching to contribute in any way they can."
The broadcast will also serve as a pledge drive to help raise funds for the thousands of charities and programs the foundation supports across New England and in Lee County, Florida. Those who make a pledge of $50, $125, or $450 will receive prizes for their donation which, depending on the size of the pledge, may include a commemorative Strong t-shirt, OYO Tim Wakefield figurines, and tickets to a 2016 Red Sox home game, including a Red Sox-Yankees game.
Contributions can be made in advance of the broadcast at redsox.com/rsfpledge and during the telecast on March 15.
Donation of any amount can be made throughout the year on the foundation's website redsoxfoundation.org.
