The Cleveland Indians announced Tuesday that Mo Vaughn Transport, Minute Men Staffing and Victory Park Ohio are joining the club's Community Partners program this year. The companies, along with original Community Partner MCPc, will support the Indians new community impact vision, utilizing baseball to strengthen youth service initiatives that focus on education, health and fitness.
 
This quartet of Community Partners will help the Indians work toward achieving its goals of preparing youth for successful lives, while improving the quality of and creating a sustainable plan for baseball and softball programs in Greater Cleveland.
 
"These partners will play a pivotal role in helping us enrich the lives of children in Greater Cleveland, while also helping us improve the quality of baseball and softball programs and infrastructure in the city," Indians Executive Director of Community Impact Rebecca Kodysh said.
 
With support from these Community Partners, the Indians have introduced two new programs to help prepare youth for successful lives:
On the field, the Tribe and the club's Community Partners will partner on initiatives to improve the quality of youth baseball and softball in Cleveland. Those initiatives include Fields for the Future, a program on which the Indians, Community Partners, the city of Cleveland and Business Volunteers Unlimited improve fields that are in poor condition and heavily used. Tribe catcher Yan Gomes will continue to serve as the spokesperson for the Fields of the Future renovation program.
 
The Indians and their Community Partners also will continue to support Cleveland Baseball Federation and Cleveland Metropolitan School District baseball and softball, working toward creating a sustainable plan for baseball and softball in the city. The Indians provide baseball and softball programming to 3,300 Cleveland youth athletes per year at no cost. Athletes and teams receive uniforms, equipment, fields and coaching clinics.
 
Indians players including Corey Kluber and Francisco Lindor are also getting involved with the organization's initiatives.
