ANAHEIM, CA - The Angels today acquired LHP Chris Jones from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for minor league outfielder Natanael Delgado and infielder Erick Salcedo. He joins the Angels 40-man roster and has been optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake. Today's announcement was made by Angels General Manager Billy Eppler.
 
Jones, 27, spent the 2015 season with Triple-A Norfolk and went 8-8 with a 2.94 ERA (150 IP - 49 ER) in 30 games (22 starts) for the Tides. He tied for fifth in the International League in strikeouts (105), and ranked seventh in ERA, while finishing fourth with a 1.71 walks per nine innings ratio. Additionally, Jones was twice named International League Pitcher of the Week (June 8-14 and August 10-16, 2015).

A native of Tampa, FL, Jones was originally selected by Cleveland in the 15^th round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft out of Gaither HS (Tampa, FL). He was traded to Atlanta following the 2011 season in exchange for RHP Derek Lowe and was traded by the Braves to Baltimore in April of 2013 in exchange for RHP Luis Ayala. In nine career minor league seasons, Jones owns a 44-40 record with seven saves and a 3.35 ERA (704 IP - 262 ER).

Delgado was originally signed by the Angels as an international free agent in 2012. The Dominican Republic native spent three seasons in the Angels organization posting a .261 (197/756) average with 43 doubles, 12 home runs and 100 RBI.

Salcedo was originally signed by the Angels as an international free agent in 2010. The switch-hitting Venezuelan infielder owns a career .242 (299/1236) average across six minor league seasons, and reached Triple-A Salt Lake in 2015.
