Astros Set 2016 Opening Day Roster

The Houston Astros have set their 2016 Opening Day roster, adding infielder Tyler White to the 40-man roster and recalling right-handed pitcher Michael Feliz. Outfielder Evan Gattis, right-handed pitcher Lance McCullers and catcher Max Stassi were all placed on the 15-Day Disabled List. The announcement was made by Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow.

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Astros have set their 2016 Opening Day roster, adding infielder Tyler White to the 40-man roster and recalling right-handed pitcher Michael Feliz. Outfielder Evan Gattis, right-handed pitcher Lance McCullers and catcher Max Stassi were all placed on the 15-Day Disabled List. The announcement was made by Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow.
The DL stints for Gattis (sports hernia surgery) and McCullers (right shoulder soreness) are backdated to March 25, while Stassi's (fractured left hook of the hamate bone) stint is backdated to March 29.
The Astros will enter the 2016 season with three rookies on their active roster in White, infielder Matt Duffy and right-handed pitcher Michael Feliz, and 15 players that were also on the club's 2015 Opening Day roster.
Five Astros players will make their debut on an active Opening Day roster on Monday: Duffy, Feliz, White, infielder Carlos Correa and outfielder Preston Tucker.
Right-handed pitcher James Hoyt, who was in contention for the final roster spot will begin the season at Triple A Fresno.
After today's transactions, the Astros 40-man roster is now full.
